Review Policy

Although I accept review copies, the focus of this blog remains classic literature (fiction or nonfiction about the classics) and children’s literature. The children’s literature I most enjoy are primarily picture books, early chapter books, and nonfiction for my homeschooling aged son and toddler daughter. I do not currently review Young Adult books.

My other interests are history, photography, cooking, and family history; nonfiction in those categories may also be accepted. I will accept a review copy when it matches the focus of my blog and my current reading interests. I am not at this time interested in author interviews or publisher-sponsored giveaways.

Receiving a review copy does not guarantee I will review the book on Rebecca Reads. However, given my discretion at accepting review copies and the fact that I review 99% of the non-picture books I read, there is a good chance I will review it. I review only a portion of the picture books I read, but if a book stands out, I will most likely mention it. I will always write my honest opinion, even if it is negative.

See my list of favorite fiction books on my about page or browse my favorites archives to see my genre preferences.
