Happy Haulidays!

I’m trying something a little different today. Chronicle Books is doing a special holiday giveaway: one blogger and a commenter on that blog will each receive $500 of books from the publisher, and a charity of the bloggers choice will also receive $500. I don’t normally join in this type of thing, but I’ve enjoyed browsing other’s posts of book wishlists and I must admit, there are some fun books on the Chronicle site that have caught my eye.

My charity of choice, if I win, is the United Nations World Food Programme. Books may be food for the soul, but let’s face it, there are plenty of places around the world that just need food.

And then, here are the books I’d love to win from Chronicle Books. I’ve included picture books, middle grade books, nonfiction, photography books, and cook books. (Click on the book image to read more on Chronicle’s site.)

Would you like to win books too? Comment on this post and if I win, one of you will too! Which of these books most intrigues you?

  1. Oooh I love Michael Ruhlman’s books, so I’d have to say Ruhlman’s Twenty is one I’d definitely like to have 🙂 Good Luck!

  2. Oh, the Ramayana one looks so beautiful! I mean these all look cool and interesting, but the Ramayana one looks amazing.

  3. This looks like a fun contest.

I think the Lincoln title looks interesting, and definitely something I would read!

    (Good Luck!)

  4. Ruhlman’s book is one that I would love to read. Bet it would teach me alot. Isn’t it fun to dream in books?

Wishing us both good luck on this thing.

  5. What a fun idea! I love the Art Up Close book, I think my daughter would love that one. But it would be hard to choose, Chronicle Books seems to have so many great options!!

  6. That Seriously Simple cookbook is calling my name! I like to cook, but feel overwhelmed cooking for myself – I need major help simplifying the process. Hope you win!
