Reading Journal (In Brief)

Well, more accurately, I’d medal in being busy. Life is fantastic right now. We’ve had a wonderful (but very hot) summer with family in town and fun excercions. I’m also enjoying watching my baby girl blossom in to her own personality! She’s already 5 1/2 months old. I can’t believe how time is flying.

I’m reading some books about house keeping and some educational philosophy books. I’m also reading A Journey to the Center of the Earth for my classics book club, and I really do want to pick up another classic. Any on this list that you think would be perfect for a busy hot time of year?

Ohhh, I think Gilgamesh or the Greek dramas would be good, since they’re all fairly short and v engrossing. If I remember rightly, much of The Awakening by Kate Chopin takes place during summer, so that could be a nice correlation. Altho w you enjoying your new baby so much you might not identify w the protagonist! ;)

Lady Audley’s Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon would be fun if you need a lighter read.

Eva » I haven’t gotten to any of these books yet…. but maybe I still will this fall. Lady Audley’s Secret sounds a like a fun read for the autumn.
