BBAW_Celebrate_Books

Happy Book Blogger Appreciation Week: it’s finally begun! I’m so excited to find new blog and to celebrate the old favorites.

To start the week, here are some of my favorite blogs that have not yet been noted via BBAW. I tried to “limit” it to just ten out of the plethora in my reader, but I ended up with eleven, and I don’t want to take any of these off the list. These bloggers all celebrate books in their own way. I love the diversity of blogging, and I appreciate all of you.

Valerie at Life Is a Patchwork Quilt. Valerie seems to have similar reading tastes to mine, so I enjoy her reviews, both fiction and nonfiction.

Claire at kiss a cloud. Claire’s posts aren’t reviews so much as “personal impressions and lingering thoughts,” and I love her thoughtful insights into a variety of different books.

Emily at Evening All Afternoon. I recently found Emily’s blog through the Dewey Decimal Challenge and I love it! Emily writes with clarity about the books she reads, whether it’s fiction or nonfiction. Her blog is an example of great writing.

Jackie at Farm Lane Books. When Jackie is not reading the Booker longlist and making predictions, she reviews all types of fiction. She also asks lots of great bookish questions so I always feel the urge to comment.

Lezlie at Books ‘N Border Collies. I can always count on Lezlie to point me to some great books, including classics, nonfiction, and modern fiction. She reads a lot (compared to me) and I’m always impressed with her choices.

Rose City Reader. Rose City Reader is a compulsive list reader, and while I’m not quite as determined in my list reading, I’m always happy to see a new list to follow. Even more impressive, Rose City Reader actually gets the books read! I like her insightful reviews.

Stefanie at So Many Books. Stefanie has a love for the old classics as well as the new, and I admit, I’m always excited to read her thoughts on the old stuff! Her blog is a journal of bookish thought, and I like that.

AK at Pulitzer Palaver. I’ve mentioned before, but I’ll mention it again: I love AK’s determination and pluck. She’s reading her way chronologically through the Pulitzer winners in Fiction/Novel, History, and Biography. She only posts on those books, so her reviews are infrequent, but I’m always excited to see that she has a new post up.

Steph and Tony Investigate. I always love to read Steph’s thoughts on literature! I’m always partial to the book reviews, but Steph and Tony also review movies and share recipes.

Christina at Jackets and Covers. Christina is just starting her first year of college, and so she reads both the school textbooks and the fun stuff. (Not to say textbooks aren’t fun, of course.) Plus, I love her blog’s name!

Tuesday in Silhouette. Tuesday has also recently entered her first year at University, so she hasn’t been posting as often, but I still love it when she does! She has great insights into literature.

I hereby dub the eleven blogs above Lemonade Award winners: I’ve recently been awarded the Lemonade Award from Bibliofreak and Just a (Reading) Fool. Bibliofreak and Just a (Reading) Fool both review some great books as well, and I also enjoy their blogs!
