Thoughts about reading fiction, nonfiction, & children's books, new & old
My husband, my ten-month-old, and I have all been sick this weekend. To my surprise, I couldn’t bring myself to finish my book and post the review as I’d planned. Every time I started to read, my eyes would close. I also usually read a book aloud to my son as he plays and my husband and I read a book aloud together. But neither of us have our voices, so I didn’t do that either. It’s amazing that I haven’t read much at all! My husband and I zoned out watching a movie all day Saturday, while our son crawled over us. That’s not like me.
Do you find your reading changing when you’re not feeling well? Or am I weird to be reading less?
Anyway, in lieu of a review, I’ll do Weekly Geeks this week, which is all about authors. (I don’t have energy to write up my thoughts about the book I just finished today, but I can do a few photo searches!)
So, the idea is, you guess in the comments who the authors are. I wish I could give you a reward if you get them all, but my budget really can’t right now. I will write a nice post linking to you. Is link love enough?
Note that I have my current and past reading on the Shelfari widget, so that could help you. Also, I am declining number 7 (“hot” authors?!) and number 5 (photo of myself with an author; my non-digital photos are in storage). I apologize in advance for Wordpress’s default text wrapping. I don’t know how to work around it!
1. Photos of your favorite author(s). I don’t have a favorite author, but here some I like.

Hints: (1) There is one author each from these categories: children’s, fiction, and nonfiction. (2) Each author has at least one book in my Amazon store.
2. Photo(s) of the author(s) of the book(s) you’re currently reading.

4. A youtube of (an) author(s) you’ve heard speak.
Note: I’ve heard all the authors in number 3 speak.
6. A photo of the author of the book you’ve most recently finished. (I’ll post the review soon…)

This blog is a collection of my thoughts about books and reading and reviews of books I've read. I'd love to hear your thoughts, too. Please share!
For more information about my current challenges and projects, visit my Reading Lists page.
Is the first one C S Lewis? I don’t recognise the others, but the last one is Winston Churchill.
I think I recognize Mark Twain, Winston Churchhill, and C.S. Lewis.
Robert Hass is in there… he spoke at my library recently and I recognized the promo photo.
Definitely see Amy Tan there, right?
I thought one was Alexander McCall Smith but now I am second guessing myself.
CHEKHOV!?
No C.S. Lewis, no Mark Twain, no Chekhov (although he does look kind of like Chekhov…). Yes on Alexander McCall-Smith, Winston Churchill, Robert Hass, and Amy Tan! I’ll post all of them in a few days.
@Mary: cool that you could hear Robert Hass. I heard him speak and met him years ago, before (shame on me) I ever read anything he wrote…..I took the occasion to buy some of his books! shame shame. Always read the author before you met them, I think….
Maupassant?
