Nominations for the Cybils are open!

The Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers’ Awards celebration children’s literature and young adult literature that has wonderful content, great kid appeal, and (for picture books) award-worthy illustration. Anyone may nominate books they’ve read. Kid-lit book bloggers form committees to narrow each category to a few top finalists, and then another book blogger committee will select the best of the best as a winner.

I have the wonderful opportunity to be a first-round panelist for fiction picture books. I’m getting very excited to get reading! Last year I had a blast with the 200+ picture books: Raisin is ready to join in as my unofficial assistant this year. He’ll help me determine the best “kid-lit” books out of the bunch.

If you have read an outstanding children’s or young adult book that was published between October 16, 2011 and October 15, 2012, go ahead and nominate it! Nominations close October 15, so don’t delay.
