With a rhythm and rhyme of just a few syllables per page, Bloom Boom by April Pulley Sayre (Beach Lane Books, 2019) provides not just a simple read-aloud for young children but also a great book of inspiration for finding flowers and other blooming plants that one enjoys. This book of flower photography is a visual treat for those who love springtime. Many pages show blossoms in wild locations other than flower gardens., and after images of emerging plants and blossoms, the common refrain of “Bloom, boom!” echoes as the blossoms take center stage in both macrophotography and wider landscape photography. A page of end matter explains what plants are shown in each photograph.
